What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty – also known as labia reduction surgery – is a surgical procedure for the aesthetic and functional correction of the inner (minor) labia. Excess tissue is precisely removed or reshaped to adapt size, symmetry, and proportion to your individual wishes and anatomical conditions.

The goal is an aesthetic, natural overall appearance – without visible scars and with full preservation of sensitivity.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How much Does a Labiaplasty Cost?

The cost of a labiaplasty depends on the surgical technique, the effort involved, and the extent of aftercare. At BONITAS, treatment is carried out under the highest medical standards – with discreet consultation and individual planning. We will provide a binding price after a personal examination. Quality, hygiene, and surgical experience are our top priorities – budget providers often cut corners in sensitive areas.

As a guideline, labiaplasty starts from €3,500 (physician’s fee).

When should one Consider Labia Reduction?

A labiaplasty is medically advisable if symptoms such as friction, pain during sports, cycling, or sexual intercourse occur. Chronic irritation or recurrent inflammation can also be an indication. Many women also opt for the procedure for aesthetic or psychological reasons – an individual consultation clarifies whether and when the surgery is advisable.

When are the Labia Considered Too Large?

Enlarged inner labia (labial hypertrophy) are present when they significantly protrude beyond the outer labia – often more than 2 cm in a relaxed state. However, the measurement alone is not decisive, but rather the subjective burden: pain, feelings of shame, or limitations in daily life are common reasons for correction. The medical assessment is made individually by specialist doctors.

How Painful is a Tummy Tuck?

Most patients experience moderate pain after the operation (about 3 / 10 on the pain scale). Thanks to general anesthesia, local anesthetics, and compression bandages, mild analgesics like paracetamol are usually sufficient for the first 5 days. A feeling of tightness when straightening up usually subsides within two weeks. A slightly bent posture, rest, and consistent wearing of compression garments support healing. In case of persistent or increasing pain, the surgeon should be contacted immediately.

How many Women Undergo Labiaplasty?

The demand for labiaplasties has significantly increased in recent years. Studies and professional associations assume that several thousand procedures are performed annually in Germany alone. The motivations are mostly functional – not just aesthetic. BONITAS stands for sensitive, professionally sound consultation without taboos.

How Long Does Healing Take after a Labiaplasty?

The initial healing phase after a labiaplasty lasts approximately 1 to 2 weeks – during this time, swelling, minor bruising, and a feeling of tightness may occur. The sutures usually dissolve on their own. Sports, sexual intercourse, and sauna visits should be avoided for at least 4 to 6 weeks. Complete tissue healing takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks. At BONITAS, we closely accompany you through the aftercare to ensure optimal wound healing.
