Do sagging breasts limit your well-being? Do you desire a more youthful breast shape that suits your body and boosts your self-confidence? A breast lift can help you achieve this goal.
At BONITAS, you will be guided by specialist for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Alejandro Marti with his expertise and aesthetic sensibility that focuses on your individual wishes and natural proportions.
Breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure in which excess skin is removed and breast tissue is reshaped. The goal is to lift the breasts and give them a firmer, more youthful shape. Often, the position of the nipples is also adjusted to achieve a harmonious overall appearance.

Alejandro Marti, MD uses state-of-the-art, individually adapted techniques:
Already a few weeks after the operation, patients report an improved body feeling and increased self-confidence. The breasts appear firmer, more youthful, and more harmonious with the rest of the body.
As with any surgical procedure, breast lift can also involve risks:
Thanks to Alejandro Marti’s experience and the careful aftercare at BONITAS, these risks are minimized.
A breast lift primarily removes excess skin, not much glandular or fatty tissue. The weight of the removed skin is usually less than 100 g – too little for an entire cup size. Many patients subjectively perceive the breast as slightly smaller because the volume now sits higher and compression from the special bra initially reduces swelling. If, after healing, the desire for more fullness remains, an implant or autologous fat can be added later.
The result of a breast lift generally remains stable for 10–15 years; however, natural tissue aging cannot be entirely prevented. Factors such as significant weight fluctuations, further pregnancies, smoking, or pronounced connective tissue weakness can shorten the effect. Regular bra wear, sun protection, and consistent weight extend the longevity. Even decades after the procedure, the breast usually never sags as much as before the surgery.
Possible disadvantages of a breast lift include visible scars (usually around the areola and vertically to the inframammary fold), temporary numbness, as well as general surgical risks such as post-operative bleeding, infection, or seroma. Permanent loss of nipple sensation is rare (< 1%), slight changes in sensitivity occur in about 3%. Smoking, obesity, and diabetes increase the risk.
For office or light activities, patients are usually able to return to work after 7–10 days following a breast lift. Those who lift heavy objects or use their arms above shoulder height should take a break for 2–3 weeks to avoid tension on the fresh scars. The special bra must be worn around the clock for six weeks; sports and sauna are only permitted after medical clearance.
Yes – a breast lift can often be combined with a tummy tuck, liposuction, or fat transfer as part of a “Mommy Makeover”. The advantage: only one anesthesia, one healing process, and a harmonious overall result. However, the surgery duration is extended, which slightly increases the risk of thrombosis and complications; therefore, particularly careful planning and aftercare are mandatory.
