What is Lip Augmentation with Hyaluronic Acid?

Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment where specially developed, body-identical hyaluronic acid is injected into the lips. The goal is to adjust lip volume, sculpt contours, and correct asymmetries – adhering to medical standards.

Hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind water. This not only gives the lips more fullness but also youthful smoothness and a fresh radiance. In the hands of experienced specialists, the treatment is safe, effective, and precisely controllable.

Why do patients choose lip augmentation?

The reasons are as individual as our patients themselves. Many desire:

The lips are central to facial expressions and communication – therefore, a subtle optimization can have an enormous effect on the overall expression.

Procedure for Lip Augmentation with Hyaluronic Acid

Before Treatment

In a detailed consultation, your wishes and anatomical conditions will be analyzed. Together, we determine the appropriate procedure – tailored to your facial proportions and desired lip shape.

On the day of treatment

After thorough cleansing of the lip area, anesthesia is applied using an anesthetic cream. Subsequently, the practitioner injects the hyaluronic acid precisely into defined areas – either for volume enhancement, contouring, or shape improvement. The treatment takes approximately 20–30 minutes.

After the Treatment

Immediately after the treatment, the result is already visible. In the first few days, slight swelling or a feeling of pressure may occur. These usually subside quickly after one week.

Which technique do we use?

BONITAS uses exclusively high-quality hyaluronic acids that have been specially developed for the lip region. The injection is performed with the finest cannulas or needles – depending on the chosen technique:

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How Long Does Hyaluronic Acid Last in the Lips?

The result of a lip augmentation usually lasts about 6 to 10 months. The exact duration varies individually, as each body breaks down hyaluronic acid at its own pace. However, experience shows that the effect is significantly prolonged after two to three treatments.

What should You not Do after Lip Augmentation?

For 24 hours, you should avoid pressure, heat, and strong blood circulation to the lips: no intense kissing, no hot food or alcohol, no make-up on the injection sites. It’s better to pause sauna, solarium, sports, and air travel for a few days, as heat and air pressure promote swelling. Cooling with a clean cold pack (10 min, cloth layer) and an upright sleeping position relieve swelling. Painkillers with acetylsalicylic acid can enlarge hematomas – it’s better to opt for paracetamol.

How much Does 1 Ml of Lip Filler Cost?

Is 1 Ml of Lip Filler a Lot?

1 ml of lip filler / hyaluronic acid is considered a moderate volume: It visibly enhances the contour without making the lips look unnatural. Many patients start with 0.5 ml for a subtle result; 1 ml is suitable for correcting asymmetries or achieving more fullness. From 1.5–2 ml, one speaks of a “high-volume” look, which is often built up in two sessions to avoid overstretching the skin.

Does Lip Augmentation Hurt?

Before the injection, a local anesthetic cream is applied, so only a brief stinging sensation is noticeable during the injection (pain scale approximately 2–4 / 10). High-quality fillers also contain lidocaine, which further reduces discomfort. After the treatment, a feeling of pressure and swelling may occur, but these usually subside within 48–72 hours.
